The Share Sheet extension on iPhone allows sharing anything from your iPhone. It has a three-part sharing section to perform actions on your chosen item and share material with other devices and apps. You may open the Share Sheet in several ways. You often tap the Share button or select Share from a context menu.
Share button: It resembles a box with an arrow. You may find it in the toolbar of apps like Photos and Safari. Tapping the button will open the Share Sheet to share your chosen material. Context menu: When you long press on any images, videos, or files, the Context menu pops up. The horizontal context menu will display a Share option if you highlight text on a Safari web page. Besides, you will get a vertical context menu if you touch and hold an image. Sharing in third-party apps: The Share button could be concealed behind a More button in third-party apps like Instagram and Reddit. Other apps, such as YouTube and Tumblr, have share buttons (a forward arrow). Tapping on it, simply turn on the Share Sheet menu with fewer choices.
Even though you may access Share Sheet in most apps, some still only allow you to share material within their ecosystem. For instance, the Share option on Facebook enables you to share a post through Messenger or your Facebook page.
How to use Share Sheet on iPhone and iPad#
As mentioned before, the Share Sheet has three different sections. Let’s discuss this in detail. The process doesn’t always have to include sharing, however. The list changes depending on the program being used and the kind of file you choose. For instance, in addition to sharing photos, the Photos app’s Share Sheet also allows you to copy, play, and set any image as your iPhone’s wallpaper. In Safari, a website may be bookmarked or added to your Favorites list.

You may customize Share Sheet on iPhone or iPad for a more unique experience. Let me show you how to add apps to Share Sheet on iPhone, remove the ones you don’t use, and rearrange the order.
Add apps to Share Sheet#
Scroll down the Suggestions list and tap the green plus (+) sign beside the app you want to add to Favourites.
Rearrange Share Sheet Icons#
Tap and hold the three lines beside the app name and drag it up or down according to your preference.
Remove an app from Favorites#
Select the red minus (-) button on the left of the app you wish to discard from the Favorites list. Then tap Remove. So, the app will again appear in the Suggestions list. Note: You can not remove AirDrop.
Turn off an app from Share Sheet#
Toggle off any app to prevent it from showing up on your Share Sheet. But first, you must first remove it from the Favourites list. Remember, you can’t disable the Messages, Mail, and Books apps. After editing the Share Sheet on your iPhone, tap Done twice to save the changes.

Under the app sharing bar, you may see a list of multiple actions like Copy Photos or Save to Files. These are also shown depending on how you use your phone. Здравствуйте. Подскажите, пожалуйста, как отключить символы сверху над буквами на клавишах? Не нахожу такую настройку, хотя знаю, что это возможно (на старом телефоне как-то сделала. На новом — не нахожу), на других телефонах (у друзей) тоже клавиатура с буквами без символов над ними.
А еще на новом телефоне не могу выбрать в списке нужные картинки для настраиваемой темы. Мне выдает только камеру и скриншоты, а рядом надпись «Этому приложению доступны только выбранные вами фото» (раньше такого не было — на старом телефоне), покопалась в настройках, разрешение на мультимедиа стоит, но никаких выборочных альбомов нет, хотя альбомов я имею больше, чем предлагается в списке SwiftKey. Возможно, это какие-то телефонные моменты, но, может, вы подскажете, как это решить.

How to Use Share Sheet on iOS 13
Well, the sharing option on iOS is available almost everywhere. But to start, head on to the Photos app, select any photo and tap the Share button to open the Share sheet.
Now, on the top of the Share sheet, you will see various quick suggestions, namely of your recent contacts followed by other useful options which include AirDrop, Mail, Messages, Notes, and so on. With the help of these suggestions, you can directly share any content with the respective contact without having to search for their name in the contact list.

As you will scroll down the share sheet, you will see other useful options like Copy, Hide, AirPlay, Use as wallpaper, etc.
How to Customize Share Sheet on iOS 13
As we mentioned earlier, you can easily customize the share sheet on iOS 13 and fill it with options that you like and which you wish to keep on this list.
Customizing the share sheet is pretty simple. Scroll down on the Share sheet until you see the “Edit Actions” option. Tap on it.
In this new window, you will see actions divided into various sections. The first section will include your “Favorites”.
Tap the “+” icon to add an item to your Share Sheet. And similarly, tapping the minus icon will remove it from the Share sheet.
Tap on “Done” once you’re done selecting the items.
As you must’ve noticed the Share sheet is different as per each specific app. Also, you will see some specific app-related actions as soon as you tap the Share button. For example, if you’re browsing on Safari, visiting any web page, so if you tap the share button, you will see specific app-related actions like Add to Reading List, Bookmark page, Find on Page, Add to Home Screen, etc.
Similarly, if you select any picture from the camera roll, you will see specific actions like “Use as Wallpaper”, “Create watch face”, “Copy Image”, “Slideshow” and so on.

How to make Share Sheet in Android
When it comes to Share Sheet , newbies generally have confusion. However, the situation is more simple than most of the topics in Android.In this article, I will explain Share Sheets in Android briefly .
Android uses Intents and their associated extras to allow users to share information quickly and easily, using their favorite apps.
So building or opening a Share Sheet is not so different than opening another Activity from an Activity. The difference here is instead of passing the Activity classes to Intent, we just putExtra() , action and type to the Intent.
Before giving the code examples about Share Sheet, let’s see the possible types . As, it said in the offical docs:
“You should provide the most specific MIME type for the data you’re sending”
By the way, If you do not know what is MIME type. It is simply, Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME). It is an Internet standard that extends the format of email messages to support text in character sets other than ASCII, as well as attachments of audio, video, images, and application programs.(for further information, please check here .)
Types that we can use are generally :
Text : for simple strings ,or in other words texts, we use “ text/plain ” as the type as the type of the Intent that we will use for the Share Sheet.
Optionally, we can use other text “ type ”s which are
text/rtf : for RTF formated texts.
text/html : for Html formated texts. ( yeah this one so obvious 😀 )
text/json : for Json formated texts
However, you should keep this in mind. The app that you try to send data (or text in this case) must be registered to “ text/* ” type to receive the data. Of course, most of the advanced apps like Whatsapp are mostly handles these kind of registrations.
Binary data : for binary data instances, like images or videos ,we use one of :
image/jpg : For jpg image files.
image/png : For png files.
image/gif : For gif files.
video/mp4 : For mp4 video files
video/3gp : For 3gp video files. (this one is not so common, I believe. Since I learned it while writing this blog )
Also, receiver apps should be registered for image/* type to receive image data. For video files they should be registered for video/* type
( I think you get the general idea of the process until here )
Note : you may use “ */* ” MIME type to send data but it is not recommended, since it will be no type safe for the receiver apps. Unless the receiver app that can handle generic data types , you should avoid to use it.
So , if you are OK until here, we can start creating some Share Sheet ( finally!) .
Firstly, for any type of sharing we should create an Intent which contains action as “ ACTION_SEND ” . We will pass this intent to the Intent.createChooser(…) which the returns the main intent to open the Share Sheet.
As you may see in the code above ( It is the same code which is in the google offical docs.). We put the text we want to share with putExtra() method of the Intent . For text extras, we use Intent.EXTRA_TEXT flag which is the one that you will mostly use but there are other flags for text extras such as EXTRA_EMAIL or EXTRA_CC . Again, please check the docs to get more detailed information about them. Moreover, to send the binary data , the first paramether of the putExtra() should be changed with Intent.EXTRA_STREAM .
In addition, If you look at the “createChooser” line, you can see that we pass the intent into the method with a null value. The null paramether here is the optional title parameter for the intent.
Oh right now, you are probably thinking “what is the ACTION_SEND_MULTIPLE “. Do not be stressed about that, it is just other send action but it is used for multiple data.
I hope everything is good for you . Now, you have enough information to create an Share Sheet and send your data but wait, there is one more thing that you may also use that is listening information of sharing. I mean, listening which component is selected by the user. The process is done by using a Broadcast Receiver as we generally use in Android to listen events.
you should pass a pending intent that contains your receiver to register your receiver. Like this :
After that, you can listen the selected ComponentName in onReceive(…) method on your Broadcast Receiver .
Remember that the “intent” in the code above is coming from the paramethers of the method.
All in all, creating Share Sheet in Android is not that complicated. All you need is a quick research about it. Of course, we did not cover everything that you can do with the Sheet. To learn them, to learn in advance about Share Sheet, please check the official documentation.
